Halloween can be a challenging time for you and your family pet. Extra due diligence is needed to be sure that one of the candies passing through the house over the month of October, that bag sitting on the counter, pockets stuffed with treats gathered from elsewhere.

Make sure that your pet doesn't have access to these items, chocolate along with other Halloween items items can be deadly to your family friend, Place all candies and treats in a dish, well away from pets access like in a cupboard and remember not to stash coat pockets with treats.

On the night of your Halloween party be sure that you have arranged for your pets to be cared for, securely and well away from guests in costumes, making everyone an unfamiliar face to your family pet. Don't chance having them running loose even if they are your best pals. They will be happier, and safer in a bedroom or secured area.

Be sure to give your friend some extra love when the event is over, maybe a few treats made just for them?
