How To Enjoy Your Own Halloween Party
The Article

Relax. Number one is to relax and realize that once the party is underway it's best for the hostess or host to smile and to enjoy.

Here are a few more ways to insure you have time to partake in enjoying your own Halloween party.

#1 Make the menu smaller than you're planning. Whatever it is it's probably way more than you need. Consider the time of your party when buying your party groceries. If it's your typical Halloween party beginning in the mid to late evening the most you want to have is snacks, nothing heavy or sit-down.

#2 Make the time of the party clear in the invitations so everyone knows exactly when the party ends. Remember though that it's likely a good Halloween party will easily last 4-6 hours and you don't want to rush your guests. Also, your guests have to get dressed up and it takes them longer than normal to put on their Halloween disguise so many guests will run later than you might expect.

#3 Make it easy to determine where guests should leave their coats. Having a door assistant also helps to direct invited guests into your party.

#4 Make sure you welcome every guest, clearly direct them to where everything is (drinks, foods) and after a few minutes excuse yourself to welcome another guest. Mingling is what makes a Halloween party, make sure as hostess or host that you are setting the tone.

#5 Sweets, lots of sweets. It's a Halloween party for heck sake and there should be plenty of treats on-hand. Candy or Carmel Apples, Cupcakes, Cookies, Lots of mini-Candy Bars, Hot Chocolate, Brownies, Apple Cider or Spiced Wassail are sure to make any Halloween party an instant success and best of all? They're self-serve allowing you time to visit with your guests.
